00 ______________________________________________________________________________ SUMMARY The incumbent is responsible for participating in the maintenance of the water systems of Washington Water Authority including plumbing inspections and line locates and to meet all applicable state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Perform plumbing inspections and line locates in an efficient manner.
2.
Install and troubleshoot water meters in distribution system.
3.
Perform site/yard maintenance as required.
4.
Assist and provide support to other departments as needed.
5.
Other duties as assigned.
6.
Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergencies in system.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES Ability to make decisions in a timely and professional manner, plus have analytical ability, initiative and problems solving ability.
Knowledge of construction practices and all associated equipment is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Required:
Ability to obtain the Plumbing Inspector License Preferred:
Grade 3 Water Distribution License INTERNAL COMMUNICATION Maintenance Technicians, Plumbing Inspectors, Managers, and other departments as needed.
EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION Vendors, Suppliers, Utilities and Outside Representatives.
USE OF COMPUTERS, SOFTWARE and EQUIPMENT Must have the ability to operate general office equipment and computers.
Must be proficient in the use of various software programs.
